Tots Carlos was shining bright - literally - in Creamline's four-set victory over the Army-Black Mamba in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference semifinals, Thursday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The reigning Open Conference Most Valuable Player flaunted her vibrant pink hair as she finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the Cool Smashers in a 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17 triumph over the gutsy Lady Troopers.
Carlos said that nothing was special about the change, saying that she just wanted to try something new with her hair.
"Maiba naman. Wala trip ko lang," said Carlos.
The last time Carlos was at the Ynares Center was back in Game Two of the Open Conference finals where she led Creamline to its first professional title after beating Petro Gazz in four sets. She also nabbed the MVP award and the Best Opposite Spiker plum on that same night.
Just like their game against the Angels last April 8, the Cool Smashers also figured in a second-set hiccup against Army to open their semifinals campaign in the Invitationals.
Fortunately, though, the team managed to move past that loss and take the next two sets to move to 1-0 in the standings with three points.
"Just like what coach said, yun yung parang inaano namin. Tinitraining din ba yung mentally recover kapag nakukuhaan ng set or ng points. Nangyari na e, so we just have to focus on what's next, yun lang," she said.
"Ganun talaga sabi nga ni coach we always have to adjust sa situation na nangyayari sa present. Hindi naman pwede isipin lahat ng games namin sa isang araw. Kung ano yung nandiyan yun muna isipin namin."
