Tots Carlos has no regrets with Invitational Final result

In an intense showdown that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, Creamline's Cool Smashers valiantly fought to defend their Invitational Conference title against Japan's Kurashiki Ablaze.

Despite the heartbreaking five-set loss, the Cool Smashers left the court with their heads held high, proud of their relentless effort and unwavering determination.

Tots Carlos, the three-time PVL MVP, led the charge for Creamline, displaying an outstanding performance with 27 points, 20 receptions, and 10 digs. Despite the setback, Carlos expressed her happiness and satisfaction with the team's performance, emphasizing the team's unity and commitment to their roles.

"Personally, I'm really happy because I'm sure you saw how closely contested the game was. All of my teammates really fulfilled their roles and gave their best. I have no regrets at all. We truly played with all our hearts and enjoyed the game. We are really happy that we ended up in such a situation because it will undoubtedly strengthen the team's spirit," said Carlos, beaming with pride.

The Cool Smashers showed great teamwork, with Ced Domingo contributing 20 points, including an impressive five blocks and two aces, while Jema Galanza added 18 points from 16 successful attacks. Despite their best efforts, they fell short against Kurashiki's relentless offensive power.

Kurashiki's Best Outside Spiker, Asaka Tamaru, proved to be a force to be reckoned with, leading her team's unbeaten run in the Invitational Conference and being instrumental in handing the two lone losses to the Cool Smashers. Tamaru's outstanding performance culminated in a game-high 29 points, which included 28 attacks, 13 digs, and 12 receptions.

"She's so good. Ever since we watched their game, she's the one who really stood out in their team. I'm really happy for her because all of her hard work has truly paid off. Considering they are a foreign team with daily games, we're extremely pleased that they were able to adapt so quickly to the environment," Carlos praised Tamaru's efforts.

Kurashiki's defensive-minded and disciplined playstyle paid off, particularly in the second and third sets, giving them a 2-1 set lead against the Cool Smashers. Despite the tough competition, Creamline had expected nothing less from the third-division Japanese team, well-aware of their organized and hardworking approach to the game.

"Before we went to the Finals, that was our reminder that they're from Japan. Regardless of the division they belong to, they are organized, hardworking, and skilled. That's what we really expected from them, so we needed to find a way to stop them. They really played well. You can also see how dedicated they are on the court," Carlos acknowledged Kurashiki's prowess.

Although Creamline's quest for a second consecutive Invitational chip and seventh overall PVL tiara fell short, their display of tenacity, teamwork, and sportsmanship earned them the admiration of fans and opponents alike.
