Tots Carlos learns from Asia's best spikers

Creamline-Philippines will aim for the PNVF AVC Cup for Women fifth place tomorrow against Chinese Taipei.

However, regardless of the result, it is automatically the country's best finish in the continental tournament, which already has seven editions.

This is only the second time the Philippines joined the meet and in its first appearance in 2018, the team nabbed ninth place.

More than the milestone though, just representing the flag and country is already a big honor for the Creamline Cool Smashers, not knowing they will don the national team colors a month ago.

And for a huge bonus, they get to play and learn from Asia's top teams.

“We’re grateful that we’re here and alam mo naman kami, doon pa rin kami sa learning eh so we try to absorb yung mga kailangan namin matutunan," said back-to-back PVL MVP Tots Carlos after their five-set victory against Australia on Sunday afternoon.

“As athletes din marami kaming natututunan, nakikita namin ‘yung sistema ng ibang teams,” added the 24-year-old spiker out of Lubao, Pampanga.

Carlos already had taraflex encounters with Asia's top volleybelles in China's Wu Mengjie, Thailand's Chatchu-on Moksri, and Vietnam's Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.

And against the Volleyroos, the University of the Philippines product was front and center with 26 big points on 25 kills and a block.

Carlos then shared how big of a boost the roaring crowd at the PhilSports Arena is everytime the Philippines plays.

“Like what we always say we’re just really happy to be here, representing the flag and we hope na we’re making all the Filipinos proud,” she expressed.

“Sa lahat ng sumusuporta po sa amin, maraming maraming salamat po. Dama po namin kayo.”
