Tots Carlos takes step back for Creamline

Two-time Premier Volleyball League MVP Tots Carlos made every second count in Creamline’s four-set victory over United Auctioneers Inc-Army in the 2022 Reinforced Conference, Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Carlos gave the Cool Smashers a huge lift in the fourth set, scoring most of her seven points in the fourth set.

“Of course, very happy kasi limited yung time of playing na meron tayo so syempre gusto natin sulitin and nakakamiss din maglaro eh. Nakaka-miss maglaro and I'm very happy na nakalaro ako today and looking forward pa sa mga susunod,” said Carlos.

The 24-year-old Carlos, who was named the MVP of both the Open and Reinforced Conference, saw her playing time diminish due to the arrival of Turkish import Yelo Basa – who plays the same position as her.

Carlos bared that she has no issues with her limited playing time, saying that she remains ready whenever Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses calls her number especially now that the Cool Smashers are already on their way to the semifinals.

“No, sobrang wala. Kasi we really trust Coach Sherwin's system. And for sure, ang gusto lang naman ni coach, it's not an individual sport naman eh, it's a team sport so we understand our role, nae-explain naman samin yung sistema ni coach at ine-explain yung mga gusto nilang mangyari so we don't really have to worry kasi yun lang naman din, kailangan lang din namin maging ready kapag kailangan kami nila coach,” said Carlos.

“If ever, yung team, syempre, kailangan din ng tulong, hindi naman kami mga superman so teamwork parin naman yung pinapairal namin palagi and yung guidance nila coach.”
