While fans eagerly anticipate the return of their beloved teams to the court, a veil of doubt shrouds F2 Logistics as they await news about their star spiker Kianna Dy.
Mere days before the highly awaited Second All-Filipino Conference's commencement, Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego disclosed that Dy's availability for the competition remains uncertain. The 28-year-old spiker, celebrated for her dynamic on-court performances and agility, has been contending with an injury.
Nevertheless, there's a glimmer of hope as she's been showing substantial progress during practice sessions.
"Regarding Kianna, her knee surgery wasn't an ACL injury," Coach Diego clarified during the media conference for the Second All-Filipino Conference held at the upscale Discovery Suites.
"We're taking it day by day, so let's see if she can play. We should be on the lookout," she added, alluding to the potential of Dy's return.
Dy's ordeal began in July when she sustained a knee injury, forcing her to miss the semifinals of the Invitational Conference.
The Cargo Movers faced challenges without her, ultimately finishing with a 1-3 record and losing the bronze match to Cignal. Now, Dy's future participation remains uncertain, and her recovery is still under evaluation.
Despite the ambiguity surrounding Dy's status, Coach Diego exudes confidence in the resilience of the rest of the team.
"Of course, everyone feels the pressure to win. All we can do is give our best every day, and our goal is still to become champions, just like all the other teams," she optimistically expressed. "However, we have many games ahead to achieve the championship. We'll give it our all and see what happens."
Diego also shared insights into the team's rigorous preparations for the challenging conference, which includes a total of 12 teams, including newcomers Galleries and Nxled.
"Well, it's truly challenging because we play three times a year, and the preparation time is quite short. Our strength and conditioning team is always giving their utmost," she explained.
As the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers gear up for the Second All-Filipino Conference, the fate of their star player remains uncertain.
