Valdez thankful to Creamline for boosting her morale

Creamline star Alyssa Valdez credited her teammates for her bounce back performance against PLDT on Saturday.

Valdez was coming off an eight-point outing in the Cool Smashers' four-set win against Petro Gazz.

"I'm just very thankful na I'm with this team," said the Creamline team captain. "Very encouraging, so the next day we trained talaga and we just focused on everything, not really focusing on what happened during the match [against Petro Gazz]."

"Sobrang thankful pa rin ako na binibigyan ako ng tiwala ng coaches ko, ng teammates ko. Kailangan ko bigyan ng tiwala ang sarili ko. Thankful lang kasi nandoon pa rin yung tiwala ng team," she added.

The 5-foot-9 product of Ateneo delivered 13 points on 28 attempts from the attack line to go along 11 excellent sets to lead her side to a 25-22, 25-16 25-21 win over the High Speed Hitters.

It was Creamline's second consecutive win in the tourney and 10th straight dating back to the previous conference.

Valdez, though, is still not satisfied with the way they performed, saying that the team must lessen their errors in the games to come.

Make no mistake, a win is still a win in Valdez's book.

"We're very happy but at the end of the day, ayun nga as you've said kanina ang dami naming unforced errors na pwede naman naming i-minimize talaga during the match so hopefully yun talaga yung kahit papaano, mas ma-improve pa namin habang tumatagal yung tournament," said Valdez.

"We're just grateful. A win is a win, we're gonna focus on the next game."
