Wong warns Choco Mucho: 'Job's not done'

ILOCOS NORTE -- Choco Mucho setter Deanna Wong revealed the secret to the Flying Titans' dominant sweep of Chery Tiggo in the Game One of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference semifinals.

"Tiwala. Tiwala talaga sa kanila kasi doon naman nagsimula lahat e," said Wong following Choco Mucho's 25-18, 25-22, 25-21 sweep the Crossovers at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center here in Bacarra on Sunday night.

Wong was the fulcrum behind Choco Mucho's balanced offensive showing against one of the title favorites. The Ateneo product finished with 16 excellent sets in the win.

Still, she deflected the credit to her teammates for delivering in the high-stakes game against a more experienced squad led by Jaja Santiago.

"Siguro trust yourself kasi before you trust others naman kailangan mo pagkatiwlaan yung sarili. I'm really proud of my teammates for delivering. It's all on them dahil sa kanila yun talaga," said Wong.

Kat Tolentino finished 11 points in the win while Ponggay Gaston and Bea De Leon each had 10 markers.

Also making their contributions were Maddie Madayag and Regine Arocha, who finished with nine and seven points, respectively.

"Pero the job's not done so kailangan pa ng isang semifinals game pa and the goal is the championship," said Wong.

"Siyempre panalo. The goal is the championship naman and we're not gonna stop until we get there. We'll put on a fight no matter what. Kailangan pa magtrabaho, sipagin at tiyagaan." (DJ)
