mbarking on a new chapter of her volleyball career, Dawn Catindig expressed her gratitude for finding a new family in Cignal after a remarkable seven-year stint with F2 Logistics.
The seasoned libero, adorned with numerous titles, joined the HD Spikers during the off-season, marking the beginning of an exciting journey with a fresh team.
Catindig's move to Cignal followed F2 Logistics' decision to disband its Premier Volleyball League team, prioritizing its grassroots program.
The libero, known for her exceptional skills, embraced the change with open arms and a heart full of gratitude.
"Syempre happy ako with this new team na may bago na naman akong pamilya. Very grateful lang talaga and I’m just taking it one day at a time," shared Catindig, emphasizing the joy she feels in being part of a new volleyball family.
On her PVL debut with Cignal, Catindig showcased her prowess on Saturday night against Akari, contributing significantly to the HD Spikers' defensive efforts in a compelling match that resulted in a 21-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The former PVL Best Libero demonstrated her skills with an impressive tally of 22 excellent digs and 11 excellent receptions, playing a pivotal role in Cignal's successful start to the All-Filipino Conference.
"Very grateful kasi na-feel ko talaga ‘yung tiwala ng mga coaches kung sino ‘yung nasa loob. Although ‘yun nga, slow start kami, na-feel namin ‘yung tiwala ni Coach (Shaq Delos Santos) na makakabalik kami," acknowledged Catindig, recognizing the trust placed in the team by Coach Shaq Delos Santos.
The libero also acknowledged the guidance provided by Cignal's veteran, Jovelyn Gonzaga.
Catindig praised Gonzaga for her leadership, especially in rallying the team after a first-set loss to the Chargers.
"Sa short months na I’ve been playing with the team, nandun din kasi ‘yung guidance, especially si Ate Jov (Gonzaga). Ngayon ko lang nakalaro si Ate Jov with Cignal, so sobrang laking tulong din kasi siya ‘yung nag-cocollate sa team kapag medyo scattered na. Sobrang laking tulong talaga na may senior na gumagabay sa team," concluded Catindig, highlighting the valuable support provided by senior players like Gonzaga in navigating the challenges of the game.
