Panaga cleared to return to Creamline

ILOCOS NORTE -- The Creamline Cool Smashers have received a piece of good news--Jeanette Panaga, one of their top middle blockers, could return anytime soon.

The 27-year-old Panaga could return as early as Wednesday against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, or a little less than two weeks after spraining her right ankle in a 20-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 15-13 win over the Black Mamba Army Lady Troopers.

The former College of St. Benilde star who is the NCAA Season 91 champion and Finals MVP actually warmed up just before their game against Cignal HD Monday but Creamline eventually decided to sit her out one more game.
She could be unleashed in the next game.

"Actually fit to play na siya," said Creamline interim coach Sherwin Meneses on Panaga. "Siyempre, medyo hini-heal pa talaga pilay niya, siguro next game or the following games makakalaro na siya, yung ang good news sa amin."

Panaga is an important part of Creamline's rotation as the team is 3-0 (win-loss) with her playing and 3-1 without her.

Ced Domingo and Pau Soriano did a decent job filling in but Panaga's absence was just too much for Cool Smashers to bear.

But now she's back. (VJ)
